In January, we lost an amazing friend and advocate, Katy Rhodes. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and communities. Katy was always one of the first people to volunteer her time and energy to any person or cause that was near to her enormous heart.
The latter half of January had so many thoughtful posts written about how Katy had positively impacted others and what she meant to those around her. Some of her trades community friends came together in a Zoom memorial, giving those that were able to attend a chance to speak. Thank you to all who attended to share what Katy meant to you and how she influenced your lives.
Lisa Langevin created a heartfelt and beautiful video in memory of Katy and we would like to share it with you.
While at the memorial, it was shared that Build Together BC, Women of the Building Trades and IBEW 213 came together to create a Katy Rhodes Memorial Scholarship.

I’m devastated that we have lost such a strong woman, advocate, and friend. I’m also delighted that Katy can continue to help others for years to come. May her light & love live on. ❤️
